Body Composition Analysis

The number on the scale is not always the best measure of success, nor is it always the best measure of health. Research indicates that body fat percentage is more indicative of a person’s overall health & fitness level than their pounds in weight. Elise uses Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis to determine your percent body fat and lean muscle mass. A healthy diet and exercise program will often lead to changes in your body composition before changes on the scale.

About Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA)

BIA is considered one of the most exact and accessible methods of measuring body fat. The device measures the impedance or resistance to the signal as it travels through the body’s water that is found in muscle and fat. The more muscle a person has, the more water their body can hold, and the easier it is for the current to pass through it. Higher levels of fat will be more resistant to the current.
